Working From Home, Creating a Workspace That Makes You Feel Your Best

There’s something so special about creating a little space of your own that makes working from home feel less like a routine and more like a lifestyle. Whether it’s a cozy desk, warm lighting, your favorite/fun keyboard, or a candle burning in the background, the little details can make all the difference in how you feel throughout your workday.
For me, having a workspace that feels both productive and aesthetically pleasing is just as important as staying active and maintaining a healthy balance throughout the day.
Creating a Workspace That Inspires You
Your workspace should be somewhere you actually want to spend time it's where we spend so much of our lives. I love incorporating warmth to my work-space, and any other decorative touches that make my desk feel cute without being cluttered.
A few of my favorite workspace essentials include:
Aesthetic keyboards and matching accessories
A candle for a cozy atmosphere that smells AMAZING
A laptop stand to keep everything organized
Cute desk calendars and to-do lists
Standing desk to get up and move throughout the day
Lastly, a phone stand (definitely optional, guilty of looking at it wayyy too much throughout the day)
I’ve found that when my space feels put together, I feel more motivated to tackle my to-do list. It’s such a simple way to romanticize the everyday and make even the busiest workdays feel a little more enjoyable.
The Importance of Staying Active While Working From Home
One of the biggest challenges of working from home is how easy it is to stay in one spot for hours without even realizing it. Between emails, meetings, and daily responsibilities, movement can quickly become an afterthought and before you know it over half the day has past and you haven't walked more than 100 steps, we all know this feeling.
That’s why I love incorporating little moments of activity throughout my workday and why getting a walking pad and a standing desk was SUCH a huge move for me to stay active. It allows me to get in some steps while answering emails, working through tasks, or catching up on less demanding work.
Some simple ways I like to stay active include:
Taking short walking breaks between tasks
Using my walking pad during lighter work periods
Alternating between sitting and standing with my standing desk
Stretching throughout the day
Getting outside for a quick walk during lunch, it's nice to see sunlight
Taking a few minutes to move whenever I feel sluggish
You definitely don't need to be walking miles and feel like you have had an intense workout to feel the benefits from just simply increasing your movements. Sometimes all you need is a quick walk or stretch to reset your mind and feel better about yourself.
Finding the Balance Between Productivity & Wellness
Working from home gives us so much opportunity to create routines that work for our lifestyles, being able to incorporate movement and healthy habits increasing the amount of self-care I give myself has been one of my favorite things about working from home.
A productive day doesn’t necessarily mean sitting at your desk for eight straight hours. It means finding a rhythm that allows you to get your work done while also taking care of yourself.
I try to remind myself that taking breaks is productive, movement is important, and creating a space that makes me happy is never a waste of time!
Romanticizing the Everyday
It's so important to romanticize the everyday, we spend so much of our lives working. A cozy workspace, cup of iced coffee, cute desk setup and movement whenever you are able can make working from home all the more enjoyable. It's definitely the little things that make an ordinary Tuesday feel special. Creating an environment to support your productivity and happiness is ALWAYS worth it!!
A little productivity, a little movement, and a whole lot of cozy energy.
Here’s your reminder to make your everyday life feel not just like a routine but a lifestyle
